Mission Statement:
To provide sporting and recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mobility challenges and their families.

Charity Description:

HOPE, Inc. was founded in July 1992 as a 501 © 3 non-profit to help children with mobility challenges. They provide sporting and recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mobility challenges. In September 2006, HOPE implemented a year-round sports and recreation program for children and young adults ages 2-23 who have mobility challenges. 

Hope, Inc. provides extra adaptive sports equipment so that siblings, parents and friends can participate seated and play too!  Hope, Inc. is a family-centered organization and is proud to be able to allow everyone to play together! Hope, Inc. is based in Moorhead, MN, but has many families that drive from their rural communities to participate. Some of the families come from Grand Forks, Park Rapids, Perham, Fergus Falls, Willmar, Forman and Buxton. All abilities welcome!

Hope, Inc.  strives to enhance the quality of life while helping these children experience life to the fullest extent possible. 

Some of their goals include: increase physical fitness, self-esteem and self-confidence. They help teach communication, social skills, sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun, energetic and encouraging environment. Each person is valued on their team! 

Some of the weekly activities include:
  • Sled hockey (December-February)
  • Wheelchair bowling league (December-February)
  • Adaptive Downhill Skiing (Andes Tower) December-February
  • Indoor wheelchair soccer (March-May) and (September-November). Three divisions based on ability
  • Baseball (June-August)
Some of the monthly activities include:
Roller skating, pizza and game nights, swimming, arts and crafts

Annual activities include:
  • Picnic
  • Fashion show
  • Dance
  • Wheelchair track meet
  • Play production
  • Awards banquet
Hope, Inc. provides a strong network of support to the parents, siblings and the children with the mobility challenges. Hope, Inc. relies on the generosity of individual, corporate and service organizations to carry out their mission.
